Chart

Most babies go through several growth spurts in the first year and a half. What is it? Growth spurts occur when the baby goes through a period of rapid weight gain or length, but also when he begins to hold his head, to sit, to turn from side to side, when he starts walking or talking. When do they take place? Babies don't read calendars or follow a schedule, so periods are estimated. How long? Growth shoots usually last 2-3 days, but sometimes even a week. Signs of a growth spurt?

  • will want to suck more often;

  • may be more sleepy than usual, may wake up less at night or wake up more frequently at night or have shorter sleep periods;

  • may be more agitated than usual;

  • he wants to be held in his arms;

  • cries more than usual;

Some tips

  • It is not necessary to supplement breast milk with powdered milk formula because the secretion of the breast will regulate itself;

  • Moms, arm yourself with a lot of patience in these moments when the baby will be crying, agitated, dissatisfied;

  • These hectic days need a little extra help (mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, a cousin); Moms need to feed, sleep and hydrate.
